Along 104

Like many people, I like looking, even without understanding what compels me to do so. Each photograph of a collector’s plate or a dog-eared book offers a glimpse into the past and a look at something once valuable, though often only to its owner, asking why we’re drawn to such trivial things and why we seek them out. Why do we project sentimental value on the mass produced? Looking closer at these items, what are we really trying to collect – is it the object or only our reflected memories?
